Finding Your Way @ skylinechurch.net

The key to finding your way around our website is the blue menu bar at the top of every page. The items with a black arrow pointing down beside the text indicate dropdown menu items which display when you mouse over them. Clicking on any menu item will take you to that page.

The Home and Site Map menu bar items take you to the Index and Map pages, respectively, and do not have drop down options.

Here's a description of what you'll find when the other menu items drop down:

vision

Our Vision section tells you more about the heart of our faith community. Our Mission and Core Values are so much more than paper statements - they emerged over time as we struggled to tell a story of the kind of community gathered at Skyline, the compelling vision that calls us and a description of the the ways we live out our faith.

You'll find out about the people who are called to lead our community on our Leadership page, which also contains information about various church policies. Our Ministry Initiatives page gives an overview of the outreach ministries we are planning for 2009-2012. The NCD page tells you more about our 2007-2010 process of evaluation and direction using Natural Church Development principles.

worship

Undoubtedly, Worship is the aspect of Skyline most people, whether visiting or long-term members, know best. This area of our site goes beyond the worship experience to the many aspects and team members that make every Sunday so special. Go to the Sermons section to find audio versions of Sunday messages, to review the sermon notes, or to better prepare yourself or group to participate in the worship experience.

The Music section outlines our music and technical support teams, including information on how you might become involved and share your gifts in worship at Skyline. The Drama section provides information about our drama team and how we make scripture come alive. In 2008, we launched our Movement and Dance ministry in worship. You'll find more information about our graphic design ministry and how you can contribute in the Visuals section.

drop outreach

Churches exist to spead God's love. At Skyline, it won't take you long to realize that you are part of God's majestic reach of love in our world. Our Outreach section celebrates the ways God calls us to reach out together in love to our wider community and our world. Each month, we lift up a particular Mission at Skyline - a way of reaching out to others in love and compassion, locally and globally. These missions might involve colleting and delivering food or clothing, or other donations. They also involve hands-on forms of outreach - tutoring and mentoring, serving, and building/repairing - all concrete forms of God's love in a hurting world.

Stewardship for us means so much more than money. At Skyline, we believe that we are stewards of a treasure of resources, physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual - and we are called to offer them all to others to the glory of our God who gives them to us without price. We offer ourselves and our buildings and grounds to our wider community in this spirit in Events we hold for education, outreach, fun and community service.
